Our Cyber Security MSc course equips you with the knowledge and hands-on expertise to evaluate, design and build robust computer security systems. You'll learn how to protect networks and data from cybercrime, hackers and terrorist attacks. Through our MSc in Cybersecurity, you’ll benefit from research-informed teaching from world-leading cyber security experts, providing you with advanced practical and implementation skills to solve complex cyber security problems. You’ll cover core competencies including security engineering, management and testing, network security, and cryptography. You’ll also develop an understanding of the cybercrime landscape, including the legal and social aspects, as well as how to track cyber criminals through our computer forensics and cybercrime module. You’ll also cover the numerous applications of security systems, including malware, socio-technical systems, cyber-physical systems, social networks, autonomous systems, and e-health.

A minimum high 2:1 undergraduate Bachelors (honours) degree with a final mark of at least 65% or aboveIf you have a lower degree classification, or a degree in an unrelated subject, your application may be considered if you can demonstrate significant relevant work experience, or offer a related graduate qualification (such as a Masters or PGDip).Programme specific requirementsA Bachelor's degree with a high (minimum of 65%) 2:1 honours (or international equivalent) in Computer Science or another relevant quantitative discipline (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Natural Science, Electronic Engineering, General Engineering, Operations Research, or a joint degree in two such subjects).Applicants should also have a sound background in basic mathematics, in particular familiarity with standard concepts of calculus, trigonometry, linear algebra, vectors and matrix mathematics. In addition, applicants should be competent in computer programming to the level expected at the end of the first year of a BSc honours degree in computer science.
