The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence is a conversion master’s designed for motivated students who have a good first degree in a subject other than Computer Science, who wish to develop the knowledge and skills to gain employment in the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence industry.

• Ideal if you are a motivated graduate of any discipline with no background in computer science, wishing to complement your subject knowledge with specialist technical skills.
• Complete a free, online short course, Get ready for a Masters in Data Science and AI, which will help you identify whether you’re ready for Master’s study, improve your data science skills, and get to grips with the basics of Python.
• Receive two weeks of intensive teaching at the start of the programme for a comprehensive introduction to programming and statistics.
• This programme has been developed by a collaborative partnership of universities and industry partners brought together by the Institute of Coding.

What you'll study

This programme draws upon our research expertise within the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, in areas including machine learning, natural language processing and Game AI.

During the programme, you’ll discover and devise data-driven AI solutions to automate and optimise business processes that can be applied in any field to support and enhance human decision-making. You’ll also explore the essential ethical and legal issues that need to be considered when generating, analysing and disseminating data and developing AI technology.
