This programme is suitable for:Individuals seeking a career in health and social care practice across a range of professional settings.Learners wanting a stand-alone higher education qualification or those intending to progress to the second year of a relevant university degree or a Level 5 HND.Those wishing to gain a recognised HE qualification while continuing to work.Study methodsThe HNC has a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 1,200 hours, which represents the average time required to complete the qualification.40% (480 hours) is delivered on campus through lectures and workshopsApproximately 15 hours per week: Wednesday, Thursday and FridayTime is split between taught lessons and supported research-based workshops.60% (720 hours) is dedicated to independent study, including:Completing assignmentsSelf directed researchStudy in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC).In addition, students must complete a minimum of 225 hours of work placement within the health and care sector.How is the course assessed?Assessment methods include:Coursework assignments and Pearson set assessmentsStructured tasks and written reportsWritten testsPractical activities such as work placement assessments, presentations, and oral examinations.For students to be eligible for funding from Student Finance England, they must be studying on an eligible course at a provider registered with the Office for Students (OfS).
