The work is challenging but rewarding, and the field needs talented healthcare professionals with a real commitment to the common good.MSc Advanced Practice in Diabetes Care is a pathway within MSc Advanced Practice. It is multidisciplinary, bringing together key insights from multiple fields. During this master's degree, you will learn about best practices in health management and diabetes from a broad range of perspectives.You will:Understand the biology of the diseaseLearn about preventing, diagnosing and managing diabetesRecognise diabetes complicationsExplore the latest research in the fieldSurvey up-to-date advances in management and careAcquire the skills to collaborate on active clinical researchKeeping the programme career-focused, our Diabetes Care master's students visit local hospital clinics and gain insight from clinical experts. This opportunity helps them solidify their skills and make a positive impact on patients in a real-world setting. The final Dissertation module gives students the opportunity to obtain an enhanced understanding of an area of diabetes or to undertake a clinical audit in collaboration with local diabetes consultants.Our graduates go on to do good work in general practice, hospitals and clinics. Some choose to study for the UK General Medical Council GMC exams (PLAB 1 and 2) and go on to work in the NHS.
