You will acquire the skills, attitudes and competencies to communicate in the classroom.The course is unique in allowing you to work in the field of a small-scale research study, which will lead to the qualification of MSc.This course will equip you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you require. The programme is modular in structure with semesters 1 and 2 following the Initial Teacher Education programme to gain a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education. On completion of Year 2, you will also achieve a Masters degree. The curriculum covers four themes across the year:Education Studies Professional ValuesProfessional Learning Through EnquiryProfessional Skills - Curriculum and PedagogyProfessional Skills - Professional PracticeYou attend classes on campus followed by blocks of continued learning on placement. The modules run in parallel, and learning and practice are cumulative.The MSc Secondary Education allows you to apply for Qualified Teacher status and register with the General Teaching Council for Scotland. Designed for global mobility, this qualification has the potential to teach in locations world-wide. As teaching regulations vary internationally, you should verify recognition and teaching registration steps with the relevant body in your chosen country.
