Analytical Spectroscopy (Certificate)

The Certificate in Analytical Methods Development program provides the knowledge of techniques of spectroscopic transitions and their applications in structural elucidations and quantitative analysis. Topics include ultraviolet/visible, infrared, Raman and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, atomic and flame emission spectroscopy, chemiluminescence, fluorescence, phosphorescence, light scattering, and refractometry. Coursework from the certificate program may be applied toward a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry degree, provided a grade ''B'' or higher was earned in that particular course. Admission to a master’s program is not guaranteed upon completion of the certificate program.
