The four-year undergraduate program for a Bachelor of Arts degree includes a foreign language concentration. Either program selection results in the completion of a pre-professional'' undergraduate architecture education a degree that by itself is not recognized as a NAAB-accredited professional degree necessary for professional licensure. Students who choose the BA/BS degree option and seek to become licensed, professional architects, must also pursue a professional degree at the graduate level a Masters of Architecture (M.Arch). The BA/BS degree is the pre-professional component of the Department of Architecture’s NAAB accredited Master of Architecture degree. Students who complete the BA/BS degree option can choose careers in allied industries making the pursuit of the master’s degree unnecessary for their future career and education plans. The course load for the BA/BS undergraduate degree differentiates from the Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) professional degree after the third undergraduate year. During the fourth year of this pre-professional degree choice, students take more option courses to explore interests that may inform their career choice or professional graduate studies.
