The Fashion Design undergraduate program will prepare you for a dynamic global industry that plays a vital role in people's economic, cultural, and social lives. Here you will gain the professional skills to develop sustainable fashion and take a fashion design idea from sketch to construction and a finished garment. We employ design process and "design thinking" to educate in design development through an emphasis on art and design research, fashion history and fashion industry analysis.Seeing your final product worn and appearing in editorial spreads are very fulfilling aspects of the program that create a great sense of accomplishment. Fashion design work offers a good sense of teamwork and collaboration.At CVAD, Fashion Design graduates learn to create sustainable products and manufacturing processes. Besides working on initial designs, your work requires you to solve problems, research trends, understand production methods, and find sources for needed supplies.The program’s success is reflected in the accomplishments of our students and alumni. Many make early impressions on future employers by competing at national and international events such as the Dallas Fashion Group International’s Career Day and Project Runway.
