Lamar University's Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art with a concentration in illustration prepares you for careers in commercial art, concept art, publishing and animation. This program has a strong focus building a professional portfolio and telling stories through your drawing. You will also develop technical proficiency in traditional and digital media (such as Photoshop), visual storytelling and business skills for freelance work. By enrolling in this program, you will be offered the opportunity to work in spacious, creative environments, and you'll have access to our Mac labs any time you wish. You'll also have the chance to display your own works of art throughout the Art Building and the Dishman Museum on campus and to build a professional portfolio for your endeavors after graduation.
