The Fashion Merchandising Concentration is part of the Bachelor of Science in Textiles, Merchandising, and Design at MTSU.Fashion Merchandising prepares students for the fast-paced, exciting world of the garment industry. A USDA report indicates there is an unmet demand for professionals in the fashion business, one of the largest and most vital industries in the U.S. today. This relatively young world is expanding rapidly each day many new job opportunities become available to the person with enthusiasm, dependability, and the specialized training for executive responsibility. The major in Textiles, Merchandising, and Design (TXMD) leads to entry-level career opportunities in fashion-related industries. Textiles, Merchandising, and Design majors and minors must earn a grade of C (2.0) or higher in all TXMD courses. The Textiles, Merchandising, and Design program consists of four academic years.
