Doctor of Philosophy in Chemical Engineering

UMass Lowell's Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering program is designed to prepare engineers for industry, academia and government leadership positions. The program includes advanced graduate coursework in engineering and allied subjects and research culminating in a doctoral dissertation. Our faculty is involved with applied research projects sponsored by industry and government agencies, and some of the current active research areas are in biotechnology and bioprocessing, advanced engineering materials and nuclear engineering.
