At the academic heart of ASU, this program is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the university’s largest and most diverse college. Its world-renowned faculty include 15 National Academy of Sciences members, 3 Pulitzer Prize winners and 2 Noble Prize winners. The Bachelor of Arts program in international letters and cultures is grounded in the advanced study of at least one foreign language. The program is more transcultural and transdisciplinary than a traditional languages and literatures degree program and is designed to encourage students to explore and challenge the traditional boundaries of cultures, texts and disciplines. Students work closely with faculty and advisors to choose a program that combines study and research in a minimum of two cultures or disciplines, or in both. Students must meet with an advisor in the School of International Letters and Cultures to discuss this degree option. It is not recommended for first-year students.
