Prepare for a career as a dance educator and teaching artist in schools, studios, and community organizations. You’ll gain familiarity with the planning, implementation, and assessment of dance education in diverse urban settings. This program leads to eligibility for New York State initial certification as a teacher of dance, all grades (pre-K–12). During your course of study, you must complete one semester of fieldwork and two semesters of supervised student teaching at New York City schools.
