This degree is taught in ASU’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, which is internationally ranked for the quality of its teacher preparation programs. In fact, ASU began as an institution for training teachers. The Bachelor of Arts degree program in social and cultural analysis with a concentration in Latin American studies provides a broad and vibrant framework for studying the diverse societies of Latin America, including diasporic communities. The program provides opportunities for cross-cultural study and takes a robust, transdisciplinary approach to the literature, film, history, politics and culture of both Latin America and Latinas and Latinos living in the United States. This major is eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange program at the following location: West Valley campus. Students from Western states who select this major and campus may be eligible for reduced nonresident tuition at a rate of 150% of Arizona resident tuition plus all applicable fees.
