At this intersection, you'll start your degree by seeing how ecological, physical, and economic concerns are consolidated in particular places, such as on the field trip you'll take to study sustainability transitions in Malta in your first semester.You'll progress through your degree gaining transferable skills in data collection, quantitative and geospatial analysis, and laboratory techniques for three-quarters of your programme, with one-quarter dedicated to gaining insights into management and economics, human resources, communications, and the strategies needed to understand businesses as a whole across financial, labour, and environmental risks. You will have the opportunity to undertake a work placement in a role that complements your studies. The independent research you undertake for your final year dissertation will be supported by an academic who will encourage you to choose a project that showcases the skills you've developed across all aspects of your degree programme, from research design through to the creative solutions needed to think in new ways about pressing environmental challenges.Through your examination of environmental pollution, climate change, extreme event modelling, conservation, or Nature-Based solutions, you'll position yourself uniquely for a career where the lab and field meet the business end of sustainability.
