Overview
This programme allows students to undertake advanced study in chemical engineering coupled with appropriate background study in basic sciences, mathematics and computing techniques.
The Department of Chemical Engineering offers four courses that are built around a wide choice of advanced taught modules plus a research project in one of our research focus areas.
MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering
MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Biotechnology
MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Process Systems Engineering
MSc in Advanced Chemical Engineering with Structured Product Engineering
Studying this course prepares you with a strong foundation of chemical engineering fundamentals and the ability to apply these to industry.
The specialised streams allow you to explore one area of chemical engineering in more depth. While this general stream allows you more choice in what you modules you study, allowing you to focus on your areas of interest.
When you graduate, you'll be able to apply the concepts of sustainability, waste minimisation, clean technology and green chemistry to quantify the environmental impact of selected chemical engineering operations and design optimal strategies for pollution abatement.
Professional accreditation
This course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
Accreditation aims to raise standards and foster good practice. Accreditation helps provide a pathway to qualify as a Chartered Chemical Engineer (MIChemE) and registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) with the Engineering Council.
