Research within our Digital Manufacturing theme focuses on exploring changes in manufacturing and engineering paradigms resulting from the development and adoption of digital technologies across multiple domains of the manufacturing value chain in order to address major scientific, industrial and societal challenges. The key challenge of digital manufacturing is that technology is moving at an exponential pace and organisation and individuals are struggling to keep up with the change. As a result, ask ten different researchers or industrialist what does digital manufacturing means and you will get ten different answers. The answers will be based on the organisations own experiences and use cases and may range from simple examples of automation and robotics, to complex vertically and horizontally integrated value chains designed to optimise the delivery of high-value products and services.

A minimum of a 2:1 first degree in a relevant discipline/subject area with a minimum 60 percentage mark in the project element or equivalent with a minimum 60 percentage overall module average. In the event of a first degree classification of less than 2:1, a Masters Degree in a relevant subject area will be considered as an equivalent. The Masters must have been attained with minimum overall marks at merit level (60 percentage) (Or higher where stipulated against a specific opportunity). In addition, the dissertation or equivalent element in the Masters must also have been attained with a minimum mark of merit level (60 percentage).
